Federation Partners Help Ukrainian Women Flee from War

Before the war, Svetlana Levkova and Ida Litvak were living peacefully with their families in Ukraine. The only thing on Svetlana’s mind were the events of her kids’ school day. After the Russian invasion, Ida and Svetlana’s lives took a dark turn. To escape the bombings, they hid in hallways and basements, when possible. Thankfully, our Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) partners called Svetlana and Ida and arranged for transportation to a neighboring country. The women are now safe in temporary housing while they figure out their next steps.
