Lila Corwin Berman is the Murray Friedman Chair of American Jewish History at Temple University and the director of the Feinstein Center for American Jewish History. She is author of three books, including. The American Jewish Philanthropic Complex: The History of a Multi-Billion Dollar Institution (Princeton, 2020). Her scholarly articles have appeared in several publications, including the American Historical Review, Journal of American History, AJS Review, Jewish Social Studies, American Jewish History, and Religion and American Culture. She has also written columns for the Washington Post, the Forward, and the Jewish Week.
Dr. Corwin Berman received her PhD from Yale University. She serves as the chair of the Academic Council of the American Jewish Historical Society and is a fellow of the American Academy of Jewish Research. She is also a co-founder of the Jewish Philanthropy Research Initiative.
