Presenter: Joel Farkas

Mr. Farkas will explore George Washington’s many connections to New Jersey; his New Jersey battles, wintering in Morristown and crossing the Delaware River on his way to Trenton. Mr. Farkas will take us on a visual tour of the Ford Mansion (Washington’s Headquarters) looking at some of the historical artifacts in the mansion and their stories. Along the way Mr. Farkas will discuss George Washington’s involvement in the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War as well as his relationship with people like John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine and Paul Revere. He will conclude with George Washington; his death, his teeth and his cherry tree. The General orders you to attend!

Joel Farkas is a volunteer docent and tour guide for the National Park Service at Washington's Headquarters (the Ford Mansion) in Morristown, New Jersey. He was the recipient of the National Park Service Centennial Volunteer Challenge Award. Mr. Farkas was an Officer in the United States Army. He is a collector of original historical autographs.
