On Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 7pm Neve Shalom at 250 Grove Avenue in Metuchen welcomes Jane Eisner as our guest speaker. This program is free to the public, and light refreshments will be served. Ms Eisner is a pioneer in journalism, former Editor-in-Chief for more than a decade at the Forward and the first woman to hold the position at the influential Jewish national news organization. Under her leadership, the Forward’s digital readership grew significantly, and won numerous regional and national awards for its original journalism, in print and online. She was awarded the 2019 Koeppel Fellow in Journalism at Wesleyan University and has won numerous national and regional awards. She is a frequent commentator on radio and television, and has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, NPR, WNYC and other stations around the country and the world. For six years, Eisner served as host of The Salon, the first-ever women’s program produced by The Jewish Channel. In addition to her Inquirer column “American Rhythms,” which was syndicated to 100 newspapers, Eisner has also written for The New York Times, the Washington Post, Newsday, Brookings Review, Columbia Journalism Review, Ma’ayan and the Reconstructionist, and served as a regular panelist on the WPVI television talk show “Inside Story.” Please join us for this highly acclaimed and esteemed author and journalist.
