The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County presents Jewish Representation in the Classroom, by Dylan Black, on Sunday, August 8th, 2021 at 2 PM, in person or via Zoom. Admission is free (donations are always welcome).

Dylan Black was assigned a project by his teacher, Mr. Joe Nappi, at Monmouth Regional High School called, "Be the Change," in which he was asked to identify a problem the students were passionate about and help "be the change." Black needed to find a solution for the problem. Dylan chose to research Jewish representation in the classroom and present his findings in a presentation to show at Professional Development Days. His presentation was supposed to guide teachers in teaching students that Jewish history is more than the Holocaust. Dylan has collaborated with Rabbi Sagal of Congregation B'nai Israel in Rumson, Sara Brown, Executive Director at CHHANGE, and Jessica Solomon, Executive Director at the Jewish Heritage Museum. The Jewish Heritage Museum welcomes Dylan Black to present his research to the community members and show the importance of stories of strength instead of stories of pain.

For more information about in person attendance or to receive the Zoom link, please call the Museum at 732-252-6990.

Funding has been made possible in part by a general operating support grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a Division of the Department of State, through grant funds administered by the Monmouth County Historical Commission.
