Presenter: Barbara Tomlinson, Ph.D.
Seeing herself as the “poor relation” in a seriously wealthy family, Peggy Guggenheim knew she had to do something “significant” with her life. What she did was support artists, collect their work, save the collection from the Nazis and establish “modern avant-garde” art in New York City. Her uncle’s name is on the famous museum, but it was Peggy who was the true collector!
Join Barbara Tomlinson, art historian and educator, as she shares the story of this major player of the art world.
