The next Tefilah Lab will feature a repeat of one of last year's most well attended sessions.  We will experience the joys of prayer through chant.
You may associate chanting in religious ceremonies with Native American traditions or perhaps Hindu or Buddhist practices, but this technique is also widely practiced in many Jewish communities.   Chanting is simply the repetition of a sacred phrase in a melodic and rhythmic way. Chanting quiets the mind and uplifts the soul. It facilitates the internalization of the teachings of the Tanakh.
Chanting does not require knowledge of Hebrew or confidence in one’s singing voice.   Only a desire to engage with an open heart. This session will be led by chanters with years of experience leading these types of groups,.
