This year, Neve Shalom will celebrate books and authors through a new virtual format. The long standing and popular Book & Author Event returns as a Zoom Webinar on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 11am. Two authors will speak about their Jewish books and respond to viewers’ questions.

Max Gross will discuss his novel - The Lost Shtetl – which is a humorous but sometimes disquieting tale of a Jewish shtetl which comes crashing into the 21st century after decades of isolation, untouched by the Holocaust and the Cold War.

Cherise Wolas, author of The Family Tabor, will talk about her provocative and gorgeously rendered novel in which the five Tabors are forced to confront the falsehoods upon which their lives are built over a single weekend together.

Since we cannot offer the Neve Shalom Bookstore this year, it will be up to program participants to purchase the featured books from their favorite bookstore or on-line book source. However, we will be offering “virtual book signing”. Send an e-mail to neveshalombookauthor@gmail.com. Indicate Book Plate in subject line and in the text indicate 1) Your name, mailing address and phone number; 2) Author & Book Title; and 3) Message for author to include with signature. An acknowledgement will be sent upon receipt of the email request and the signed book plate will be sent to you by mail.

The Book & Author Event is free and open to the public. The Webinar will be presented on the Neve Shalom zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82472289017. Check with Neve Now that week or call 732-548-2238 x 12 for the password. Additionally, you may contact Hazzan Levin at Hazzan@NeveShalom.net for more information.
