Locust Grove Estate is a museum and nature preserve, operated by a not-for-profit foundation for the enjoyment of the public. The unique combination of landscaped lawns, sweeping vistas, elegant collections, and beautiful buildings makes it one of the most intriguing Hudson River estates.

We’ll begin our tour with an orientation at the
Visitor Center, followed by a short walk to the mansion overlooking the Hudson River. Expert guides will lead us through twenty-five rooms on three floors of the house which are furnished with extensive collections of American and European furniture and paintings exhibited in period-room settings. The tour will conclude with a return to the Visitor Center and a self-guided tour of the exhibits which include telegraph equipment and paintings by Samuel Morse, a former owner of the estate. You will have time to visit the unique Museum Shop, opulent gardens and lush grounds.

After our tour we’ll go to the Poughkeepsie Waterfront where you can enjoy lunch on your own in any of the nearby waterfront Restaurants.
