You are welcome to a virtual screening of the film “Broadway Musicals – A Jewish Legacy”, hosted by the CBI Library Committee. This humorous and very entertaining film examines the unique role of Jewish composers and lyricists in the creation of the modern American musical. The film showcases the work of legends such as Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, George and Ira Gershwin, Lorenz Hart, Richard Rodgers, Oscar Hammerstein II, Leonard Bernstein, and Stephen Sondheim.

CBI member Sandy Gordon will host and moderate discussion of this British documentary that takes an in-depth look at the history and powerful connection between Jewish artists, actors, producers and the successful theatrical productions they created.

It includes interviews and performance videos and is sure to trigger lots of singing as you watch.
