ZIVUG: Transition to Marriage (6 sessions)

Join Rabbi Getzel and a cohort of other couples for a six-class series on love, partnership, and the conscious transition to marriage. Through Jewish wisdom, guided exercises, and frank conversations, we will explore the growth and maintenance of vibrant relationships. Open to couples (all gender and multifaith expressions of partnership strongly welcome) in the year preceding or following a wedding.

Each of the six classes will be on a separate topic:

Stories We Tell Ourselves About Love and Marriage

Healthy Conflict

Money, Finances, and Debt

Moral/Religious/Spiritual Differences

Intimacy and Sex

Partner Roles Ancient and Modern

ZIVUG: Transition to Marriage is the second part of ZIVUG: Envisioning Your Wedding and Marriage, along with From Henna To Honeymoon: Personalizing A Jew-ish Wedding. Couples are welcome to register for and attend either the combined course or either class separately.

Rabbi Getzel Davis works with couples both individually and in groups to envision, plan, enrich and repair their partnerships at all stages of their lives together. In addition, he serves as a rabbi and chaplain at Harvard University and is a certified trainer of other clergy in Prepare-Enrich premarital counseling. In addition, he founded Unorthodox Celebrations, which has, since 2016 helped almost 3000 Jews (and those who love them) find inspiring and relatable officiants for their weddings, bnei mitzvah, and baby namings.
