A Statement from The Center for Holocaust, Human Rights & Genocide Education - June 1, 2020

We are heartbroken by the killing of George Floyd and mourn with his family. We demand justice for him and for other victims of racist violence. There exists a continuum of violence against African Americans and other People of Color in the United States, from Point Comfort to Dorchester County to Tulsa to Memphis to Minneapolis. It is unjust and it must end.

We are proud of our community for protesting peacefully to demand change in American institutions, practices, and thinking. We are also proud of our local law enforcement for standing with the community. And we are resolved, NOT resigned. We are here with you, we are advocating with you, and we will continue to work with you to eliminate racism,  antisemitism, and all forms of prejudice.
