Governor Christie Releases Funds That Will Benefit the Jewish Community

The Jewish Federation is delighted to share the attached press release issued this week by the State of New Jersey Office of the Governor. Governor Christie ordered the immediate release of $33.4 million in appropriations to benefit more than a dozen initiatives benefiting children and families, students, Holocaust survivors, veterans, and others. The Jewish Federation is proud to have played a role in advocating for this funding on behalf of the Jewish community in the heart of New Jersey.

On September 14, 2016, the Jewish Federation released the initial news describing how this funding will result in an increase for the security of students who attend private religious schools. The funds the Governor's office are now releasing will also bring hundreds of thousands of additional dollars to benefit Holocaust survivors in Middlesex and Monmouth counties.
