Commitment to Each Other

The Talmud says Kol yisrael arevim zeh bazeh – all of Israel are responsible for each other. Fostering shared commitment to the needs and goals of our community, Federation enables people of any and all means to fulfill the commandments of tzedakah and tikkun olam.

Leadership Development

The Federation sponsors opportunities for adults and teens to develop community leadership skills, empowering them to share their passion for supporting Jewish causes and inspire others to join them.

  • The Tanzman Fellowship (adults)
  • The Harriet Taback Woman of Valor Fund for Leadership Development (women)
  • JTeam (teens)
  • Israel Advocacy Training (teens)

Developing financial resources through philanthropy enables the Jewish community to care for those in need and connect all Jews to a strong future  fulfilling the commandments of tzedakah (justice) and tikkun olam (repairing the world). This includes:

  • Annual campaign
  • Life & Legacy endowment program
  • Giving societies
  • Corporate sponsorships
  • Tributes

Giving of one's time and talents is a meaningful way to demonstrate commitment to the Jewish community, supporting the Federation, its partners, and those whose lives are touched through our programs and services. Opportunities include:

  • Delivering Kosher Meals on Wheels
  • Visiting people in the hospital
  • Serving on a committee
  • Fundraising

When community members learn about the pressing needs in Jewish life, they often feel moved to contribute to causes they feel strongly about. The Federation creates and supports many ways for those who are not yet engaged to find their path to and place in a caring, connected, and committed community. These include:

  • Social events
  • Speakers & lectures
  • Family activities
  • Travel
