Presenter: Kevin Woyce
Have you ever wondered why there is an elephant-shaped building on the beach in Margate? A concrete ship stuck in the sand off Cape May Point? A town named Loveladies? Or Ship Bottom?
Kevin Woyce did... and the result is this colorful tour of our coastal history, from the long-ago days of pirates, shipwrecks, and lighthouses to the founding of today's most popular summer resorts. The slide show includes his original photography of Jersey Shore lighthouses, amusement parks, boardwalks, and hotels, plus vintage maps and images of historic people, places, and events.
Kevin Woyce is an author, photographer, and lecturer. His regional history books, illustrated with original black and white photography, include: Jersey Shore History & Facts, Niagara: The Falls and the River, and Hudson River Lighthouses: An Illustrated History. A lifelong resident of the Garden State, Kevin grew up in East Rutherford, the eldest of 15 siblings. He now lives in Lyndhurst with his wife, Carin.
