Interfaith Matters: Embracing Everyone-the new perspective on “marrying out” and Conservative Judaism

Using a contemporary historian’s lens on change and gender roles, this talk dismantles negative assumptions, explains the positive narrative that sees intermarriage as an opportunity, and provides a path forward for a strong Jewish future. Refreshments will be served.

The Scholar-in-Residence (SIR) program is a unique opportunity for Congregation B’nai Israel and the Greater Red Bank community-at-large to engage in deep learning and discussion about marriage, family, and identity. It is also the kickoff for a congregational conversation about living our values, tradition, and change based on the Conservative Judaism Movement’s new narrative on Jewish intermarriage and inclusion. Open to anyone and everyone who wants to participate in this thoughtful process to learn, discuss, make connections, and build community.
