The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County together with Hadassah, the Deal-Shore Long Branch Chapter, present a PowerPoint slide talk entitled The Golden Medinah, Monmouth County, New Jersey: 19th-20th Centuries: A Story of Eastern European Jewish Immigration to America, on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at 12:30 PM at the Jewish Community Center of the Jersey Shore, 100 Grant Avenue, in Deal.  Admission is free. A light lunch will be provided. The lunch is donated by Ellen Louise Cohen, in memory of her father, Harry Cohen.

The largest wave of Jewish immigration to the United States was that of the Eastern European Jews, a wave which began in the 1880s and continued to 1924. Over two and a quarter million Yiddish-speaking Jews immigrated to America in search of The Golden Medinah (The Golden Land.)

Please RVSP by Friday, August 31, 2018, by calling The Museum at 732-252-6990, or the Jewish Community Center (JCC) Jersey Shore at 732-532-9100, extension 10.

This program is made possible in part by the Monmouth County Historical Commission through funding from the New Jersey Historical Commission of the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
