PJ Library Connects Friends and Generations

Shortly after Grace signed up her three-year-old, Molly, for PJ Library, Anne reached out and the two met for coffee. Anne is a PJ Library Ambassador.

When Anne described the way PJ Library books and community get-togethers are helping her own family make happy Jewish memories and embrace Jewish values and traditions, Grace shared that her mom had recently passed away and Grace had inherited her mom’s challah recipe but was nervous to make it for the first time without her mom.

Anne recalled how the PJ book, “Braid the Challah” helped her learn to make challah with her sons, then a lightbulb went off: why not organize a neighborhood challah-bake using Grace’s mom’s recipe?

As a PJ Library Ambassador, Anne brings local families together around Jewish experiences.

A challah-bake, she thought, would be a great way for Grace and Molly to meet a few other local PJ families and support Grace in keeping her mom’s memory as fresh and sweet as a Friday night challah.

PJ Library Ambassadors connect families raising young Jewish children to form meaningful bonds with each other and make happy Jewish memories.

Jewish Federation in the Heart of NJ gifts the Harold Grinspoon Foundation's PJ Library books and music, each month, to more than 3,600 Jewish children six-months to eight-years-old throughout Monmouth and Greater Middlesex counties. PJ Library books and music celebrate Jewish holidays, themes, and traditions. Local events extend the PJ experience, including little ones in community fun with family and friends.
